Events have not gone away. Like just about every other part of life, they have adapted. We are seeing 7-10K new virtual events getting found and parsed by our event engine every day. In-person events are getting scheduled (or rescheduled) and listed for late summer and fall. All of our calendars are currently displaying local (and select national) virtual events as a default and will continue to do so until in-person events make their comeback (likely this summer).
Here are some things you can do now to optimize your event offerings:
- Update your widgets to show virtual events (by adding the csVirtual label on the admin widget page).
- Remind your audience that events are still happening by highlighting the virtual aspect of your event content in an article, your COVID-19 section, with a menu link, an email, or on social media.
- Remind your audience that virtual events can be submitted and share the submission link.
- Consider a special section in print or online highlighting virtual events, such as the virtual event of the day, etc.
